Windstorm

Windstorm was the first 3D project I built in school. It was a multiplayer split-screen aerial combat game that up to 4 players can play. Players control futuristic fighter jets using the Nintendo WiiMote and Nunchuk as controllers to maneuver the ships around the level. The game is won when a player becomes the first player to record 10 kills. Players can perform tight turns and barrel rolls while they pursue their enemies with lasers and homing missiles!

Windstorm was built on a custom built engine that a team of 4 students built. The team consisted of two designers and two programmers for a development cycle of 10 weeks. The engine was built on C++ / DirectX 9.0c and the Nintendo controllers were interfaced using GlovePIE.
